Hi I'm Sam ...

I’m a self-taught Graphic Designer with over 21 years of experience. My design journey began as a simple hobby, formed from my love for technology, music, art, and a keen eye for detail, then slowly evolved into a lifelong passion for digital and creative expression.

At the age of twelve (12), my dad gifted me a laptop as a reward for excelling in school. Back then, with only dial-up internet and limited access to online resources the curious kid in me found ways to make the most of it to just feel cool using my brand new laptop.

I started experimenting in Microsoft Word, exploring and learning the concept of layers, and using the tool to create CD graphics and album art for my specially selected music playlists. Music remains one of my greatest sources of inspiration and has always been something I hold very dear to my heart because of my dad and my childhood introduction to all the varieties of music we listened to together. With my headphones on and the right song playing, I’m fully immersed in the imaginative and creative world—like Alice in Wonderland in her own beautiful world of design.

This experience helped me discover my talent and fuelled my passion for graphic design even more which then made me start dabbling in more advance softwares like Corel and Photoshop, where I spent my free time experimenting and learning key design concepts, deepening my love for the craft and advancing my skills in the arts as years went by.

My creative path then led me into the wedding industry by a fluke.

What started as a favour—designing invitations —turned into overwhelming feedback on how much the work was loved. From there, the idea for SB Design Studio was born. At the time, I didn't think that my skills were good enough to use as a career but with the motivation and reassurance of my mom,  I slowly built up the confidence to believe I can further this hobby as a career.

Over the past 6 years, I’ve had the privilege of capturing the love stories of thousands of couples around the globe, using design as a storytelling tool to bring visions to life in a way that feels intentional and meaningful. My goal is to properly set the tone for every client's uniquely special day with a well-designed invitation suite that would be remembered in years to come.Whether I’m designing a luxury wedding suite or building a brand identity, every project is driven by passion, creativity, and a love that continues to evolve with every new challenge.

My work also extends to business branding, advertising and visual identity, where I focus on creating dynamic, innovative, and beautifully crafted designs that feel personal and most importantly, purposeful—properly representing each brand’s identity and vision for their goals.
